Please dont offer me sponsorship or items for review, i’m not interested. This is just one of my hobbies and I have a full time job and it isn’t youtube.
I'm another older model Mercedes enthusiast with a you tube channel. I'm sharing with you my experiences as I play with my own benzes and some others I encounter. As always you should read factory service manuals to know the correct and safest way to do any jobs.
Postal address available on request.
The email address given isn't for asking for technical support questions, I can't help everyone. Benzworld is a good forum with lots of knowledgeable people if you need help with a serious mb problem.

Hi, where did you get hold of the repair kit? Seems nowhere to be found. /Jensen
eBay. Search by valve MB part number on yours.
Hey Dave Please email me regarding your wheels I have them ready to collect
Would you say that the original springs with the 1 notch pads would give it a good stance with the 17" monoblocks?
Hi MMWA. I have uploaded a small video with a simple diagnostics device for KE jetronic systems that I've prototyped. Well... it's more of a glorified duty cycle reader, but I've been using it for the past 3 months and I love it. Let me know what you think, if you find the time to watch the video.
yep im interested
Eastern German Trabant was build better lol
Well, this sounded like nothing but gibberish to me, but it's still interesting 😅
Hey u have a contact
Where did you source the replacement? :O
My tank is the same 😭
its all too common these days. The only source for a replacement tank is from a parts car. And you better hope its not even worse 😂
@@MMWA-DAVE I don't think it could get any worse 😂 When I pour fuel down the filler I have to do it a litre at a time otherwise it bubbles back up.. 😳
@@LopuDesigns wow, that tank is junk. Take it straight to the tip and find another 😂
Hello.... thank you for the useful video, butvI got a question, I replaced my car Transmission Conductor Plate NAG1 for 2007 Chrysler 300C 5.7l AWD, it works then not shifting, they told me your Transmission need programming to work correct, someone else told me it doesn't need programming, so I got confused does it need Programming as you a professional??? Cuz am afraid to pay money for programming then if it doesn't work then you waste the money for nothing. Thank you
you need to have the fault codes read from the transmission control unit to find out exactly what it is complaining about.
Great video as always. I've replaced a whole lot of front end stuff, but there's still unruly vibrations coming from small bumps and making the interior shudder like an old Peugeot. The only bush I haven't replaced (which looks perfectly fine visually) is the front two piece bush on the front control arm. The rear bush on the front control arm has also been replaced. Looking at your video, it does seem like control arm goes a LONG way in absorbing vibrations. Would that be correct or should I be looking elsewhere? My 124 is a 300e 4matic btw which has very different looking components up front, but functionally the same.
Can you share .stl data ?
You dont need to remove spring or lower arm or shock just remove bolt and lower down enough to get tool in save hours labour and you dont have to get rear tracking done
i love these birds so much. definitely one of my absolute favorites. thank you so much for sharing this!
If you were on the east coast, II would say check out Heasman steering in Stydney, I think they have a good reputation with alignment on clasic Benz models. Bit of a trek from Perth though. 😂
Very well explained. Can you tell me if it is possible to adjust the position of the distributor (the point of the advance) or if its fix?
distributor is not adjustable on these engines. Ignition timing is controlled by the EZL and its program memory is read only. You would need some after market ignition system to have control over ignition timings. There were however a few selectable ignition maps available in the EZL by way of changing a resistor value for dealing with low quality fuels.
Your W124 takes a bit long to start on cold. Maybe your cold start injector is not spraying well?!
Please post an update, I have the same problem with my m103 and also have the fuel distributor rebuilt recently, but had the same problem before. Cheers.
Ahh the joys of learning 3D printing! You'll get there in time, the good thing is there's plenty of resources and others doing it to help out! Love your 124's, I have a 95 built/96 complied A124 myself!
So cool. I have bought some 3D printed parts including this one. They are getting better. That you’ve got your own machine, not that’s got me thinking!
When replacing bearings is it easier to remove the carrier or pull the bearing out and press the new one in while on the car?
HELLO.....thank you for your superb video....same problem after changing my plate with Febi-bilstein and Solenoid joints etc...Code P0730 on my Autel and in addition the Mercedes techs tell me that they can no longer access the settings with their Tablet.. I am disgusted by this SLK 230 from 1996 which is costing me an arm and a leg... thank you for your advice.....Continue...
Part number for fuel tank valve 1991 420sel
hahah... Knobbly problem. Mine (1989 W124 260E) has the exact same ugly problem.
What info do you feed the printer in order to print something? Does the printer scan the object first?
All 3D printers are pretty much "give them a file and they will print it" - they are not 3D scanners. You use software such as SolidWorks to design what you want, save it in the correct format for the printer to understand and send it to the printer and off it goes. It takes a bit to get into it, but like all things, it's a never ending learning process.
Wow keep going! I’ll buy one
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Do you have a link of the sealant you apply on the back cover when installing it back on the differential?
Just got my 400e transmission apart using this video as a guide, found all sorts of play in the 1 and 4 pack which matches the problem of no first gear, hoping all goes well going back together

Tyrepower Bayswater have a Lazer alighner or something like that was recommended to me by Wilkinson's I replaced every bush ball joint in my w202 1998 C250TD and replaced the shockies and springs lowering the car and I changed the wheel from 15" to 17" AMG ,the first wheel alignment was atrocious I almost couldn't drive it the second wheel alignment was similar to what you got , so I thought I would go to Wilkinson's but it was to busy but he recommended tyre power Bayswater who finally got this wright I did put adjustable arms on the rear but my Mercedes drives perfect now and looks cool with lowered suspension and sport whjeels
Merci
My abs pump stays on all the time and the light is on all the time, i disconnected the cable from the abs pump so jow i have no abs. I checked all the fuses and sensors everything is fine, could it be q wireing issue? Like a rat earing a cable or something? Can someone find me a abs wireing diagram dor my w124 e230 1992 in german if possible.
What type of wires are those that the floater moves up/down on? The ones on the sides. Are they resistance wires? How many Ohms and what gauge are they? Anybody knows?
the resistance does change based on where the float is touching it. Not sure what they are made of. They can successfully be cleaned carefully of the fuel varnish with acetone. If they are corroded or broken you need a whole new sender.
@@MMWA-DAVE I appreciate the reply my man! Thank you. I figured out what the cause for my specific problem was. I have a W201 190E model and it turns out that the little nut down at the base of the tube (the one where you took off the sealant/glue from) was basically not holding the tube in place anymore. This resulted in the tube just falling off and kind of dangling from side to side, which in turn broke the two small wires from the soldered positions up top. I managed to solder them back in place and after taking a few readings with the multimeter, it read well and true! I made sure to solder them tight, as the small bracket they are connected to at the bottom is flexible and kinda bend-y, so it will provide that small tug/tightness once you solder the wires back on. My issue still remains that the little nut at the bottom is not 'holding on' to anything, to keep the whole tube from falling off again, so I had to just use some epoxy stock glue to glue the top plastic part to the rest of the tube (the one that the gauge cable connects to at the top). So for now, even after a long 150km journey, it holds. The readings are solid, with <20% fuel in the tank or full, they read great. I just wanted to reinforce that little nut at the bottom, to make sure I can unscrew it when I need to do any further repairs to the unit, but it just doesn't screw into anything. Maybe the plastic at the bottom has been eroded around the nut a little bit, I am not quite sure what went wrong with it. We'll see how it goes in the future. Keep up the good work!
Hey, so for the front nut you just tightened it by hand?
when doing these pinion seals i usually tighten the nut back to exactly the same position it was in from the factory. I know its not the highest accuracy but its not let me down yet.
All these abbreviations! What IS that and what does it do. What can it do, that a Mercedes watchamacallit can't do?
Did You figure it out??
Yes, many years ago. I retorqued all the link arm bolts. But on a car thats not recently had the read end rebuilt, i would suspect the lower control arm outer joints. The rubber covers are notorious for perishing and it rusting up.
I have this on my '92 Audi 100 2.0e KE-Jetronic system, hard starts but once it ran it starts fine, Im assuming this is the part that's failed and it's not available anywhere! Really annoying!
Appreciate you sharing this process!
Not sure what that is, or what you’re trying to do, but the Star clone is what you should have. You can code modules, perform adaptations, and its diagnostic capabilities are better than anything else for these cars. It’s compatible with models 1989-present.
this is for extracting, editing and then re-writing engine tunes. I have additional hardware to virginize and clone these ecus too, which is utterly impossible with star diagnostic.
@@MMWA-DAVE Oh I see. I didn’t think that could be done without experience. I assume you can mess up the mapping big time if you don’t know what you’re doing.
@@charlesphiliparthurgeorgep4653 currently undergoing self education on the matter. Once I have mastered the process i will share my findings. I absolutely hate that this part of the scene is nothing but a money grab.
Good DIY video, very helpful, thanks.
Other than editing engine maps what else can you do with it?
that all. Me2.0/2.1 requires additional hardware and work inside the ecu to clone with functional DAS or to virginise it. I also have this hardware and will be experimenting with this on a couple ECU’s i picked up off ebay.
@@MMWA-DAVE nice work! Would be interesting if you can get the immobiliser off etc
@@mrgtsx this is already possible on these old ecus by way of a small circuit board you install inside the ecu. I think i’d rather use a generic aftermarket ecu for ease of tuning for an engine swap though.
🤣🤣🤣ITS THE BUSHING THEY SAID, GET NEW SPRING THEY RECOMMEND. THANK YOU VERY MUCH MMWA I ALOMST SPENT A FORTUNE 🤣🤣🤣
I left my sun visors like that to hold up my sun shade for a few weeks and the Texas heat ended up melting the mirror off the visors and cracking their plastic frames.
Is the front lens even necessary? Looks nice without it, considering the swirl marks it has
I guess you could, but the needles etc are fully exposed without it, everything in there is quite fragile and never meant to be touched.
@@MMWA-DAVE it probably wouldn't be difficult to use a template to cut out a sheet of hard plexiglass to the same spec as the original. It would be clearer and resistant to swirl marks as well. Something to experiment with for the next time I have to remove my cluster.
